Frames — Printing & Materials
Every Silvergrain Press framed print is produced using giclée — a high-precision inkjet process using archival pigment inks, the same standard used in fine art galleries and museums worldwide. Pigment inks are chosen over dye-based alternatives for one reason: permanence. Properly displayed, a pigment giclée print will not visibly fade over a normal lifetime of display.
All prints are produced on Hahnemühle matte art paper — acid-free, archival-rated, and sourced from the world's oldest paper mill.
Every frame is built with real wood and arrives ready to hang. Classic frames use a satin laminate construction, while Edition frames are 100% solid hardwood, hand-stained and wax-finished to elevate the natural wood grain.
Every order is fulfilled locally in the UK, EU, or United States, reducing transit time and environmental impact.
Shipping & Handling
Most orders are produced and dispatched within 2 to 5 business days with tracked delivery.
Every order is covered by our Print Quality Promise. If your print arrives damaged, has a print quality issue, or isn't right for any reason, contact us within 14 days of delivery at info@silvergrainpress.com with your order number and a brief description. We'll arrange a free reprint and replacement. You don't need to return the item.
All products are shipped in protective recyclable packaging and arrive ready for your shelf or ready to hang.
File Requirements
JPG, PNG, and HEIC files are accepted. We recommend Adobe RGB (1998) when exporting edited photographs for print.
We do not auto-correct submitted files, so final exposure and colour should be prepared for print before upload.
Printed photos usually appear darker than when viewed on a backlit screen. Reduce monitor brightness to 50% to make final exposure and brightness adjustments before exporting for print. See our guide in the blog to learn more.

Paper Quality
200gsm Matte Hahnemühle
Every print is produced on Hahnemühle matte art paper — a 200gsm fine art substrate from the world's oldest paper mill and the definitive standard for giclée printing. The smooth matte surface emphasises tonal range and fine detail without the reflective distraction of a gloss finish. Particularly well-suited to black and white photography, where tonal gradation is everything. It's the same paper choice professional photographers make when printing exhibition work.
Frame Construction
Hand-stained hardwood
The Edition Frame is built from solid hardwood, hand-stained and finished with a specialist wax that brings out the natural grain of the wood — giving each frame a crafted, individual character. The 33mm depth from the wall creates a distinct shadow and a stronger presence on the wall. Available in Black, White, and Natural. Arrives ready to hang.
